SALT Loves Giving Back
A company is only as successful as the community built up around it. That means SALT Light & Electric only thrives when its service towns do. We’ve served Central Texas communities since 1983, and we’re looking for new ways to keep giving back throughout the years to come.
Our current roster of projects is near and dear to our hearts. We hope that our efforts can create genuine change in Austin, TX, and beyond and that you may be inspired to join us on our journey.
Coalition to Cure Calpain 3
Combatting the world’s litany of medical conditions is a never-ending task. God, however, only gives his most challenging fights to his strongest warriors. That’s why the people with Coalition to Cure Calpain 3 work as hard as they do. This team fights to bring funds to research teams exploring the complexities of limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD), a condition that can leave victims needing wheelchairs after only 11 years.
Coalition to Cure Calpain 3 is more than just a commendable institution. It also supports a cause that is of paramount importance to SALT Light & Electric owners John and Kathleen. In 2017, John and Kathleen’s granddaughter, Brooklyn, was diagnosed with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A. With no treatment, no cure, and no time to waste, John and Kathleen reached out to Coalition to Cure Calpain 3 for help.
Now, SALT Light & Electric donates funds to the coalition all throughout the year. In 2021, our company plans to sponsor Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Day, which takes place on September 30th. Members of the SALT Light & Electric ministry are invited to help us keep giving back by donating to this special cause. You are also welcome to participate in the day of awareness, celebrating the lives of all those suffering from limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A and fighting to find a cure.
Real 4 Christ
Throughout his life, Chris Moore embodied the spirit of outreach within the Christian faith. Raised in Kenya, Moore saw the work of God firsthand as it swept through the nation and hundreds were baptized.
Founded in 2007, Real 4 Christ was Moore’s outstretched hand. Through this organization, Moore, his wife, and their followers partnered with MANNA Worldwide to feed children in each of the schools Moore’s family had established throughout Kenya. Real 4 Christ funded the family’s ministry throughout the country and now allows them and their two daughters to continue their outreach in person.
Moore visited Austin, TX, in the mid-2010s, and his vision for the future inspired ours. Though Moore passed in the service of God in 2020, we want to keep giving back to his family and all of the powerful institutions he helped build.
Folds of Honor
Folds of Honor looks to the sacrifices made by American soldiers and uplifts that legacy. The organization makes college scholarships available to the children of fallen and disabled soldiers, exemplifying the motto, “Honor their sacrifice. Educate their legacy.”
We support our electricians who have served in the armed forces by donating to these scholarship funds, and we want to keep giving back to the men and women who have given so much to us.
SALT Light & Electric’s success is the community’s success. Giving back is part of our ministry. To help us support our roster of causes or to submit a community proposal, call our team. You can also reach us via email.
